GLOW, season 3 review: the shift to Las Vegas is fun – but the wrestling is lacking

What do slightly flagging TV shows do when they need to shake things up a bit? Why, relocate of course, which is how we find ourselves amid the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas for season three of GLOW, the Netflix comedy-drama about an all-female wrestling troupe.

It’s not just the setting that’s different from the previous seasons. There’s also much less focus on the actual wrestling – after all, most of the comic potential here was exhausted in season one – and much more focus on the increasingly complex and intertwined lives of the wrestlers themselves.

Much like Piper from its Netflix stablemate, Orange is the New Black, season one’s leading lady Ruth (Alison Brie) is a little too grating…
