York Regional Police investigators have identified the victim in the Aug. 1 Markham homicide investigation as Wai Loon (Allen) Kong.
The 39-year-old who had connections to both Markham and Collingwood was one of the victims shot at a restaurant in a double shooting incident.
Shortly after 11 p.m., police responded to a restaurant at 5460 Highway 7 East, after receiving reports of the sound of gunshots.
When police arrived, they found the victim dead at the scene, as well as a second victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
The second victim, a woman, was taken to hospital and is not in stable condition, police said.
The suspect fled from the scene on a motorcycle.
Investigators have released images of the suspect and the motorcycle involved.
According to police, the suspect is described as last seen wearing a motorcycle helmet, a dark green jacket, dark pants and a backpack.
The suspect motorcycle is described as a black and white sports bike with blue or purple coloured headlights.

Any witnesses that may have seen or heard anything in the area are asked to contact police.
Investigators are also appealing to any nearby businesses or residences that may have video surveillance, or any drivers who may have dash cam footage to please come forward.
